HAMILTON NEW ZEALAND
A place to belong, grow in confidence and discover the joy of singing together

Your child doesn’t need to be confident or experienced to begin. At Tron Songsters, children can listen, move, hum, or join in when they’re ready, while learning music as part of a welcoming choir.
Tron Songsters is a children’s choir in Hamilton, New Zealand, with groups for ages 5 and up. Through singing, movement and carefully taught music, children build musical skills, share the joy of making something together, and find a place where their voice is welcome. FOR EVERY CHILD
Confidence is not the price of entry.
1
A child can begin by simply listening - taking in the sound of others, feeling the room.
2
They can watch, move to a rhythm, hum quietly, or mouth the words until they're ready.
Children do not have to arrive ready. They do not have to be loud, experienced or certain. The invitation matters - and so does what happens after the invitation.
At Tron Songsters, a child can begin exactly where they are. Belonging can give them room to find their voice, not the other way around.
3
They can sing softly at first - and discover that their voice is welcome at any volume.
4
When they're ready, they join in. And when they join in, something shifts.
5
The invitation is just the beginning. What happens after the invitation is where the real work - and the real joy - lives.
WHAT CHILDREN EXPERIENCE
Music that challenges and rewards.
Choir is a craft. We take it seriously - and we make it joyful. Here is what a child can expect when they join Tron Songsters.
Challenging music, taught step by step
We don't simplify the music. We teach it carefully, in layers, so that children can genuinely achieve something they didn't think they could.
Movement, listening and repetition
Music lives in the body as well as the voice. Children learn through movement, active listening and the kind of supported practice that builds real skill.
Different voices working together
A choir is a community of sound. Children discover what it feels like when their voice becomes part of something larger than themselves.
Performance and shared pride
There are opportunities to perform and to experience the particular pride that comes from creating something beautiful together in front of others.
OUR APPROACH
The VOICE Method.
Every rehearsal at Tron Songsters is shaped by a practical framework. It is not a rigid formula - it is a set of values that guide how we teach, how we listen and how we build a choir together.
V
Value every voice
Every child's voice has worth - at whatever stage it is at. We begin from that premise and we return to it in every session.
O
Open through movement
Bodies open before voices do. Movement unlocks breath, rhythm and presence - and it makes the room feel safe enough to sing.
I
Invite connection
Choir is relational. We actively create the conditions for children to feel seen, heard and genuinely part of the group.
C
Cultivate capability
We teach real musical skills - pitch, rhythm, blend, dynamics - with patience and rigour, building capability that children can feel and carry forward.
E
Express together
The goal is always collective expression - music that means something, made by people who made it together.
FROM OUR COMMUNITY

We are having fun together across all levels. It is always a pleasure to show up. When I am having a bad day, I am always leaving with a smile. Definitely worth going."

Parent testimonial
"We've been part of the Tron Songsters since 2021, when my oldest daughter joined at 8, and now all three of our girls are in the choir. We've seen their confidence in singing and performance grow, their musical ability improve, and they've made some great friendships along the way. It's great to see them learning and improving in such a fun, positive and supportive environment. They look forward to choir every week and have had some amazing opportunities through it, including travelling to China to perform. We couldn't recommend Tron Songsters more highly.
